External events

Enable or disable outbound Fineract business events posted to a message channel.

Open System → External events (or Ctrl+K and type "external events"). You need READ_EXTERNAL_EVENT_CONFIGURATION to view the list and UPDATE_EXTERNAL_EVENT_CONFIGURATION to turn types on or off.

These flags control which Fineract business events are posted to the tenant's outbound channel (Kafka or JMS when the server has that enabled). They are not Hooks (HTTP or SMS callbacks) and not the notifications bell in the top bar.

What you can do

  • Browse every event type Fineract returns. Membership comes from GET /externalevents/configuration — Bankayo does not hide types.
  • Filter by name, family (the leading word of the type, such as Client or Loan), and enabled or disabled.
  • Enable or disable a type with the switch. The change is saved at once via PUT /externalevents/configuration.
  • Export the filtered list as CSV or Excel.

Event names on screen are Bankayo labels derived from the Fineract type (ClientCreateBusinessEvent → Client Create). The raw type stays in the Type column. Unknown types still appear using that Fineract name.

Posting only happens when the banking server has external events turned on (FINERACT_EXTERNAL_EVENTS_ENABLED). Enabling a type here does not start a broker by itself.

Without update permission the switches are disabled; you can still search and export.
