Standing instructions
Schedule recurring transfers between accounts, or automatic loan repayments from savings.
Open Standing instructions in Institution (or press Ctrl+K and type "standing instruction"). You need READ_STANDINGINSTRUCTION to see the list, CREATE_STANDINGINSTRUCTION to add one, and update or delete permission to change or remove it.
A standing instruction is a schedule. Each run posts an account transfer. This is not the standing-instruction-at-disbursement flag on a new loan, and not repay from savings on a loan workspace.
What you can do
Filters narrow by client name or transfer type. Types come from the Fineract standing-instruction template (account transfer and loan repayment today; charge payment only if the template includes it). Export downloads the filtered list. Run history opens Organization → Standing instruction history.
New instruction is a five-step wizard: from, to, instruction, recurrence, review.
- Account transfer cannot involve a loan — both sides must be savings.
- Loan repayment must be savings to a loan.
- A savings destination must use a fixed amount and periodic recurrence.
- Periodic recurrence needs an interval and frequency. Monthly or yearly
also needs the day and month (
dd MM). - Dues amount is only for loan repayment, not savings-to-savings.
Open a row to see associated transfers. Edit can change amount, dates, status, priority, instruction type, and recurrence — not the from/to accounts or the name. Delete stops future runs; posted transfers stay on the accounts.
