Users

App logins for your institution — office, roles, and passwords.

Open Users from Admin (or press Ctrl+K and type "users"). You need permission to view the list, create permission to add a login, update permission to edit one, and delete permission to remove one.

A user is a login, not an employee. Employees are staff records you can assign as loan officers. Users are the usernames that sign in to Bankayo. You can optionally link a user to a staff member at the same office. Create and edit roles under Admin → Roles.

The list

  • Search by username, name, email, office, or role.
  • Sort by clicking a column heading.
  • Export downloads the catalog as CSV or Excel. Passwords are never included.
  • New user opens a five-step wizard when you have create permission.
  • Click a row to edit that login in the same wizard when you have update permission.
  • The row menu Delete is off for your own login and for the system user.

The address bar is Admin › Users. Create is /users/new. Edit is /users/{id}/edit.

Creating a user

New user walks through profile, office, password, roles, then review.

Profile. Username, first name, and last name are required (each name field up to 100 characters). Email is optional. If you fill one, it must be a valid address (at most 100 characters). Email is required only when Email the password is on. The email (and a staff mobile number, when SMS two-factor is configured) is also how two-factor authentication delivers a sign-in code.

Office. Office is required. Staff is optional and lists only employees at the office you picked. Changing the office clears a staff link that does not belong to the new office.

Password. Email the password is on by default and needs an email on Profile. The banking service sends a password to that address. Turn it off to set the password (and repeat it) yourself — that is how you create a login with no email. If email delivery fails, the reason from the banking service is shown on the form. Password never expires skips scheduled password changes for this login.

Roles. At least one role is required. Disabled roles cannot be newly assigned.

Review shows the choices, then Save. Close returns to the list without saving.

If New user is missing, you do not have create permission. If the roles list is empty, add a role first.

Editing a user

Click a row. The same wizard opens. Leave the password blank to keep the current one. If you fill a new password, repeat it to confirm. Email stays optional; leave it blank if this login has none.

Deleting a user

Delete from the row menu. You cannot delete your own login or the system user — those actions stay off. After delete, that username can no longer sign in.
