Manage data tables

Define extra fields on clients, groups, loans, and other records.

Open System → Manage data tables (or Ctrl+K and type "data table"). You need READ_DATATABLE (or create/update/delete) to open the list. CREATE_DATATABLE, UPDATE_DATATABLE, and DELETE_DATATABLE control the buttons. Superusers with ALL_FUNCTIONS see everything.

This screen defines extra-data tables. Filling values on a client, group, or center is the Extra data tab on that record — not this page. Requiring a table at a lifecycle status is Organization → Entity data-table checks.

What you can do

  • Browse registered tables by name, entity, and one-row vs several-rows.
  • Create a table in three steps: table (name, entity, optional subtype, one row vs several), columns, then review. Open New data table. On the columns step, Add column (or a row) opens a docked side panel for that field.
  • Edit uses the same wizard. You can add, rename, or drop columns and change the entity. The table name and one-vs-several-rows setting cannot change after create.
  • Delete a table from the row menu. Stored extra-data rows go with it.
  • Export the list as CSV or Excel.

Entities and column types

Entity membership is every Fineract EntityTables name (client, group, center, office, loan, loan product, savings, savings product, savings transaction, share product, and working-capital loan / product). Bankayo labels those ids; it does not hide ones Fineract still accepts.

Column types follow Fineract: short text, whole number, yes/no, decimal, date, date and time, long text, JSON, and dropdown. Short text needs a length. Dropdown needs a code from System → Codes. A client table needs a subtype (Person or Organisation).

Maker-checker

When maker-checker is enabled on the tenant, data-table changes may queue for approval in the Checker Inbox instead of applying immediately.
