SMS campaigns
Compose and send SMS or in-app notifications from a Fineract business-rule audience.
Open SMS campaigns in Organization (or press Ctrl+K and type
"sms campaign"). You need READ_SMSCAMPAIGN. Create, edit, activate,
close, reactivate, and delete need the matching *_SMSCAMPAIGN
permissions. The message log on a campaign needs READ_SMS.
This is the core Fineract campaign API (/smscampaigns). Messages leave only
when an SMS gateway is configured (or you
send an in-app notification). If the gateway is missing or not running,
Bankayo still lists and opens campaigns and shows a banner instead of failing
the page. Create, preview, and send wait until the gateway is up.
This is not Templates (Mustache document/SMS text) and not a one-off SMS from a client workspace.
What you can do
New campaign is a four-step wizard: details, audience, message, review.
- Trigger membership comes from the campaign template (Direct, Schedule, or Triggered). Triggered rules are the SMS reports whose subtype is Triggered; the others are Direct and Schedule.
- Business rule is a SMS report. Audience parameters are that report's stretchy parameters. Triggered campaigns do not require them.
- Schedule campaigns collect frequency, interval, optional weekday, and first-run date. Frequency and weekdays come from the template (R8).
- Message is at most 480 characters. Preview recipients calls
POST /smscampaigns/previewwhen the trigger is not Triggered.
A new campaign is pending. Activate (with a date) sends a Direct campaign immediately or starts a Schedule. Close stops it. Reactivate is only for a closed campaign. Edit and Delete are only while closed — Fineract refuses otherwise.
Export downloads the campaign list as CSV or Excel.
