Closures

Lock an office so journals cannot post on or before a date.

Open Closures from Accounting (or press Ctrl+K and type "closure" or "closing"). You need closure-viewing permission to see the list, create permission to add, update permission to edit the comment, and delete permission to remove the latest closure for an office.

A closure stops journal entries from posting or reversing on or before that date for that office — manual journals and loan or teller postings alike.

The list

Search by office, date, comment, or who created it. Export as CSV or Excel.

  • New closure picks an office and a date. Comments are optional.
  • Click a row to change the comment. The office and date stay as they were.
  • The row menu Deletes only the latest closure for that office. Remove later dates first if you need to reopen an earlier period. Fineract’s reason is shown if it refuses.

The address bar is Accounting › Closures.
