Loan product charges

Attach fees and penalties in the product currency.

This is step 5 of the create wizard. Define the templates first under Charges — collection time, calculation, payment mode, and penalty rules are on the charge, not here. After save, attached fees and penalties show as tables on the product when any exist. Charge names link to that catalog.

What you can attach

The table lists charges that apply to loans and match this product’s currency. Each row keeps the details on three columns so you can scan without scrolling sideways:

  • Charge — name, fee or penalty, and (when inactive) that status. Secondary text is when it is collected, how it is calculated, payment mode, and any due day or frequency.
  • Amount — currency amount or percent, with min/max caps underneath when they exist.
  • Ledger — income account, with the tax group underneath when one is set.

Search and the All / Fee / Penalty tabs filter the list. Check a row (or click it) to attach that charge; uncheck to remove it from the product. Product charges become the starting set when an officer opens a loan — they can still add or remove charges on that loan.

If the list is empty, either no loan charges exist in this currency, or you have not chosen a currency yet. Create the charge first under Charges, in the same currency as the product.

Fees versus penalties

On the product workspace they split into Fees and Penalties sections. Overdue installment charges are penalties; disbursement and tranche charges cannot be.

After save

You can change the attached set later with Edit. Accounting mappings for individual fees and penalties are configured on the mappings step when books are not None.
