Recurring deposit products

Term, amount, interest chart, mandatory deposits, and withdrawals.

Open Products → Recurring deposits. New and Edit use the same wizard. Open a product for a sectioned workspace (general, terms, settings, interest chart, charges, and accounting when the rule is not None). Terms show the length and unit together — for example 3 months.

Like fixed deposits: term, deposit amount range, interest settings, lock-in, premature-closure penalty, tax, optional charges, and one interest chart with consecutive rate tiers. Recurring products can also require a mandatory deposit, allow withdrawals, apply advances to future installments, and set a minimum balance for interest (that last field is accepted only on recurring products).

Chart dates belong to the rate schedule. Recurring products have no product start or close date.

Amounts show the currency code. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).

When an officer opens a recurring deposit, the docked sidebar starts from this product. Required is the product, dates, recommended installment, term, and collection frequency; Optional can still change interest, lock-in, mandatory/withdrawal flags, tax, and charges for that one account. Maturity instruction is stored on the account — if it is left unset, the officer chooses it when closing.

Wizard steps

  1. Details — name, short name, description.
  2. Currency — code, decimal places, multiples.
  3. Terms — default deposit amount, optional min/max amount, minimum and maximum term, optional term multiples, compounding, posting, and calculation. Compounding cannot be longer than posting.
  4. Settings — lock-in, premature-closure penalty, tax, whether deposits are mandatory, whether withdrawals are allowed, and whether advances apply to future installments.
  5. Interest chart — same consecutive-tier rules as fixed deposits, including optional amount grouping.
  6. Charges — optional savings charges in this currency.
  7. Accounting — None, cash, or accrual periodic, and the GL accounts that rule needs. See Fixed deposit products for the exact account list.
  8. Mappings — optional payment-channel and charge-to-income mappings when accounting is not None.
  9. Review — confirm every section, then create or save.
