Savings product currency
Currency code, decimal places, and amount multiples.
This is step 2 of the create wizard.
Choosing a currency
Currency is a searchable list of currencies your institution has enabled
under Organization → Currencies. Each option
shows the name and the code (for example KES, not a symbol).
Choosing a currency fills decimal places from that currency. You can still change decimal places on the product if the core banking system allows it (0–6). Decimal places control how money fields round on later steps and on accounts opened on this product.
If the currency you need is missing, enable it under Currencies first, then return here.
Multiples
In multiples of is optional. Opening balances, limits, and similar amounts round to this step (for example 1, 10, or 100). Leave it blank if any amount in this currency is allowed.
Amounts on later steps
Fields such as minimum opening balance stay disabled until a currency is
chosen. From then on they show the currency code in the field — never $,
€, or KSh.
Charges are filtered to this currency. Change currency after attaching charges and unmatched charges disappear from the list. Accounting GL accounts are not currency-specific in the picker — use accounts your institution keeps in this product’s currency.
